Redmond's Historical Tapestry: Preserving Chinese American Legacies.

Updated: Apr 2

To honor our roots and the Chinese Community To showcase our resilience and contributions To inspire all for a prosperous future Redmond

This summer the Redmond Historical Society will engage student volunteers in partnership with the Little Masters Club, to uncover the rich and often untold history of Chinese Americans and Americans of Chinese descent in Redmond.

With support from Society staff and volunteers, students will research and document:

  • Early Chinese Residents and immigration

  • Chinese American Businesses

  • Contributions to the Tech Industry

  • Artists & Poets

  • Politics, Culture & Religion

Their work will be brought to life as a multimedia Digital Exhibit, to allow the public to explore and learn from these stories. See some of our existing exhibits online at redmondhistoricalsociety.org/digital-exhibits.

The Society also looks for opportunities to share history in the community and will study the feasibility of temporary exhibits, or the potential for a visual heritage wall to bring history to life in a way that is both inspiring and engaging.

Stay tuned! More information coming soon.
