The Redmond Historical Society is actively collecting, preserving and displaying artifacts from Redmond's history. To further the appreciation of this heritage we are developing outreach programs and connections with other groups within the community as well as encouraging volunteers to participate in these activities. Current activities include an information booth at the Redmond Saturday Market, and a monthly Speakers Series on the second Saturday of each month at the Old Redmond School House. Love Working With People? Volunteer Coordinator at Redmond historical society

The Volunteer Coordinator manages all elements of volunteering within the Redmond Historical Society. The role involves assessing an organization’s needs and then meeting those needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers. They also monitor, evaluate and accredit volunteers. Time required throughout the year.

 

Redmond Historical Society Board Secretary Volunteer wanted!

Redmond historical society is currently looking for a volunteer Board Member an Officer position, including serving as Corporate Secretary. Member of Executive Committee and Member of the Board of Directors. Attends and takes minutes of Executive Board Meetings and Board Meetings. Compiles minutes within two weeks of meetings and sends out to respective members of Exec Board and Board members. Provides final copy of minutes for permanent record.

Board meets Monthly (except July, Aug, Dec) on Tuesdays prior to the Speaker program. Additional time required outside of meetings to compile minutes, with Staff Support.

Resident of Pacific Northwest or just want to find out some interesting facts of Redmond's local history? Join us at Redmond Historical Society's working Board of Directors as the next Board Member at Large.
You will get an opportunity to exercise your non-profit board skills as well!!

Board meets Monthly (except July, Aug, Dec) on Tuesdays prior to the Speaker program. Additional time may be required to fulfill Committee work, other tasks.

 

Exceptional Leadership opportunity as Program Committee Chair

Ready to be the Chair of the very successful Redmond Historical Society Saturday Speaker Series Planning Committee?
Manage and grow the signature program of the Redmond Historical Society. Topics range from local through state historical interest. Programs are held in the morning on the second Saturday of the month September through May (excluding December) at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center and attract an average audience of 130 people.

Responsibilities include working with a small committee to identify speakers and develop the schedule. Exceptional volunteer opportunity for someone who loves history and is willing to take the lead. Minimum two year commitment beginning June 2017. Approximately 10 hrs. per month. Please see our website for current speaker schedule.

 

Marketing opportuniy-Redmond Historical Society

Apply your marketing skills & promote successful speaker programs as a volunteer!!
Take over existing, successful marketing program that currently uses email, an on-line marketing company, web and print media to reach a variety of audiences including mass media, City of Redmond news outlets, members, and other historical organizations. Exceptional, rewarding volunteer opportunity!! See Redmond Historical Society website for overview of upcoming speakers.

Committee begins speaker selection process in October of each year with goal to have promotion materials ready by the following May. Programs occur Sep-Nov and Feb-Apr. Time required throughout the year.
